Thank you for leaving him. Thank you for walking out of his life. Thank you for hurting him. If you hadn’t, he wouldn’t have learned what it’s like to be loved for who he is rather than what you wanted him to be. Thank you for breaking his trust, letting me show him it’s possible to put it in someone else. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to love and care for him. He is my best friend and the other half of my soul. I will do everything i can to make him happy, to make sure he knows he’s loved. I will prioritize him and support him in anything and everything he desires. I will love him in the ways you failed to, will see the wonderful things in him you missed. I will be there to watch his smile grow, to wipe his tears on his bad days, to hold his hand when he needs a friend. I will forgive his past mistakes and stand by him for any he makes in the future. I will stand by his side for as long as he’ll let me because he is a diamond in a sea of rocks and is worth more than the stars. I will love him for all that he is and all that he will be. I will listen to his crazy stories and endless rants and on going complaints, no matter how ridiculous they are. I will do what you couldn’t, i will keep him. I will be what you failed to be for him; a partner, a best friend, and the woman who will never let him go.
